Amanda Kratovil, BSN, BA

Amanda Kratovil is a doctoral student in the College of Nursing at Rush University. She is also a RN at Rush University Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Amanda also holds a B.A. in applied psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Amanda’s research interests include parent-infant relations and early interventions in the NICU. Amanda is a qualitative researcher and has recently completed a pilot research project entitled “Experiences of African American mothers with infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.” Her dissertation work will focus on the experiences of pregnant mothers who recently received a severely debilitating antenatal diagnosis for their unborn child. Amanda plans to pursue a research career as well as a teaching career after securing her Ph.D.
